My therapeutic focus is on assisting clients to emerge from a limited life perspective into a richer, deeper, exciting place of possibility.
I don't see clients as flawed beings, but as having their life force blocked through limiting personal and family beliefs which were created through personal and historical events and trauma.
I am comfortable with many levels of consciousness and philosophies. I see myself functioning as a mid-wife in allowing that deeper place of knowing to emerge. Some people come to me in order to deepen their spiritual practice and spiritual insights, and to heighten their creativity. I have worked with people from many different orientations. More about spiritual and transpersonal work.
When I work pre- and perinatally with children and adults I look for that moment when such an imprinting occurred and where the child or adult made a decision and reacted, resulting in a shut-down. Using very gentle methods, I allow the client to go back and reengage from a resourced and stronger place. More about prenatal and perinatal work.
Adoption is a situation that can have a long-lasting impact. That disruption is due to a break in the initial bonding mechanism, which can happen anywhere along the continuum of development. Using creative interactions, EMDR for children, and story telling I assist the adoptive parents with establishing a new bond, which results in innumerable shifts psychologically and physically. More about working with adoption.
In working with a segment of autistic children I notice that some of the symptoms are due to severe trauma, and these children may be misdiagnosed. Using floortime, as developed by Stanley Greenspan and refined by my experience in working with children for the past 15 years, I meet the children where they are and pull the threads through in order to create a greater connectivity and tolerance for closeness. More about working with autism.
Play and fantasy games allow for the inner life of the child to unfold. Through participation in this play among family members or simply by observing the child's play in a place of unconditional love, healing can happen. Older children benefit from using sandplay, art therapy, EMDR, EFT and family therapy. More about child therapy.
Work around creativity is an effective way to approach a variety of life challenges. The objective is the removal of obstructions to allow the free flow of life energy. The result is a more successful life with deeper human connection, greater joy, and increased prosperity. More about creativity work and EMDR.
